September 11..Raise Your Teacups Please Ladies....

I woke up this morning remembering.......that dreadful day 6 years ago......i remember i was on my way to work....casually,happy, with a bright day ahead.....totally unaware that on the other side of the world tragedy had struck, tragedy that was so unimaginable, so inconceivable it couldn't possibly be real.
I cried when i found out, i cried for days like so many others i am sure.
The feeling of disbelief was enormous. How could something like this happen ???
Today i will think about all the loved ones that were lost, those who were injured and those who risked their lives to save others. The world came together didn't they.....even here in Australia we felt the pain like we were there with you all. I remember thinking how strong and how remarkable we can be in the face of tragedy. When you think you have nothing left, you find an inner strength you never knew you had. I hope those affected by September 11 continue to grow strong.

So today in honour of the people of September 11, i ask that we all raise our Teacups at our Tea Party's and take a moment.... just to remember.......

May Your Cup Always Runneth Over...

Shannon, thank you so much for this post. It truly was a terrible day and brings tears to my eyes still as I recall watching on tv what was unbelievable to me. I could not believe that this was happening here in the United States. I was horrified and so saddened by the loss of life and destruction. Thank you for remembering.
Love,
Barbara

I'll never forget that day. My boys and Pat were on vacation, and I was 3 months pregnant with Annalise. My brothers and I made the drive to the vacation house, and I was so glad to see my family. That was a lovely tribute, my friend ((((hugs)))

Well said Shannon, we all get wrapped up in our own things, but it is times like these, you have to burst your bubble, and feel for all who were put in this horrific situation, to put it mildly!
What better way, than to raise our teacups!

Hi Shannon,
Hope you don't mind but I thought so much of this post, I put a link to it from my blog so people can hop over and read it. Thanks!

I found your blog via Joan at Joan Journeys today. Thank you for remembering and for feeling the pain of that whole tragedy. Ironically, my husband was in Australia at the time this happened...it took him days and days to get home. I've been reliving much of that time this morning...remembering the pain and the resolve that we all experienced in the days that followed those horrible events. It's wonderful to read that you, too, remember this...even way on the other side of the world!

What a moving tribute, beautifully put!

Ok, I just resent your swap letter from a different e-mail system altogether. My sincere apologies for all this inconvenience. Third time's the charm, right?

What a beautiful post Shannon! It's strange how I never really thought how that horrible day might have affected so many from other countries. But, it did. Thank you for reminded me of that.
