Painting, Tweaking, Singing...and Goin' Bush Baby..YEAH !

Well this week in my little pink neck of the woods theres been lots of painting and a lil bit more tweaking too . Oh and i musnt forget lots of singing of Bon Jovi songs.....I'll get to that later.

FINALLY i put some of my creating aside and did something for me. I finished my sideboard HIP HIP HOORAY, Happy Dancing all over the place!
Do you remember it ?? Here it is when i first got it, in the midst of rearranging the front room.

Now take a look!

See the handles on the 2 front draws?? You can have the glass pointing down or up, as the have a drop to them (i dont mean sideways like on the doors).... Well we had a HUGE debate over what way to put them (i said the other way with the glass facing down as you pull the draw open) BUT His Majesty Mr Paint Mine Pink got his knickers in such a tangle that i just let him go (he was, afterall holding the cordless drill)....LOL, but i am going to unscrew them when hes not around and switch them over.....ssshhh dont tell him !

I also hung these gorgeous curtains in between our front room (The Pretty Room as Sam says) and the kitchen so i can close them at night and keep the warm air in the main part of the house. My lovely mum bought these curtains for me THANKS MUMMSY!

Now you are wondering about the BonJovi thing arent you? Thinking it must have something to do with my Sam? Well you'd be right! He is such a music man, he loooves music. At the moment he is right into BonJovi. So he has been setting up his guitar and microphone and doing concerts for us.

Song of the moment ??
"Shot through the heart, and you're to blame, you give love a bad name"

Cracks me right up!Thats all he knows of it, so we get that same line over and over.

Now tomorrow we are off out west for a few days! A friend has a cabin at Wyangla Dam and we are getting all rugged up in our woolies to take a little break. The country and i are like Fish n Chips...we just go together, so im super excited to be going bush (so to speak).
I'll be sure and take lotsa piccies to bore you with when i get back on Friday.
Oh, speaking of Friday.....i may not be back in time to post my Friday Flea Market items so i do apologise. I will try but!

Have a great rest of the week my lovelies!

Lotsa hugs n pink kisses,
Shann xx

p.s Shane has his 4 monthly appointment with his Oncologist this afternoon...always so nerve wracking for us...he will be fine but!

The side board...I have no words...ok, I'm lying, I do...YUMMY!
It's perfection!
I am rolling over the Bon Jovi thing...last week someone at work was listening to Bon Jovi on their ipod and for the rest of the day you would
hear a random "ohhhhhh, ohhhhhhhhh, livin' on a prayer" from on cube or another!

Oh Shann,
Your sideboard turned out gorgeous and those curtains from your Mum - how nice - we do that same thing here in our doorway to the kitchen because it gets like an oven in there. I love the curtains, so pretty, light and airy looking.
I knew I liked Sam - Bon Jovi - good for him! Does he like Who Says You Can't Go Home Again or Have a Nice Day (the new stuff?). Sam sure does have good taste (like his Mum!).
All good wishes to Shane (know it will be great) for his check-up! And I'm sending you that recipe for Phyllo Spinach Ramekins to your email this afternoon. Hope you're having loads of fun, can't wait to see the pics ;)

Shannon,
The sideboard looks great! Well done. Isn't it funny how little boys love good old rock songs. My boys love "Jet" and my youngest sings "Are you gonna be my girl?" It's hysterical. LOL!
Have a great few days away and I hope Mr Paint mine Pink is OK?

Hi Shannon,
I love the transformation of the sideboard, just beautiful. Had to laugh about which way to put the handles, I bet he won't even notice if you change them.
I hope you all enjoy your time away.

Good luck on that appointment, hope all goes well for you.

Have been busy looking at paint swatches here in sunny QLD and think we might have decided on the perfect shade of cream to paint all the furniture.

The sideboard is just gorgeous. It looks perfect there too. I'm with your Sam, that's one of my favorite Bon Jovi songs and the best line. Enjoy your bush time and look forward to pictures.

My son was singing Bon Jovi the other day too - of course, he's 17 so it didn't have quite the cute factor as this =) It's funny to me that at 17 he likes alot of the same music that I used to listen to when I was a 20 something. Anyhow, have a great trip! We'll be heading out of town next week. ..I'll be praying with you for Shane's appt. Blessings... Polly
