Re-arranging is good for the soul....

Dont you agree? I know i get sooo tired of looking at everything in the same place all the time..it drives me BONKERS, LOONEY..UP THE WALL.
So there i go, on a mission to re-arrange and mix things up. Well kinda.
yesterday i was feeling particularly bummed out (insert violin music here) i couldnt fathom the energy or sparkle to 'tart myself up' and go junkin' to get cheery, so i decided to just work with what i had in front of me.
So this led me to my dresser. I stood there looking at it and MAN WHAT WAS I THINKING when i put this together. It was all too darn neat and kinda sparse looking (hmm heres where goin junkin would have helped..to fill the gaps you know). So i added, shuffled, dusted and VOILA...... i am still not happy with it *groan*. Oh well, for now it will have to do.

* I've been on the lookout for some old Window Shutters to paint up for soooo long now and YAY finally i got my hands on a bunch of them ! Funny thing was that my sweet friend Gail was doing the same thing at the same time. I decided we must be psychic.

Heres my first one, just finshed this morning. This one is going on Ebay but i have lots more...should keep me off the streets for a while i think.....!

And how gorgeous is this? AN old drawer front that i painted and distressed and then added this gorgeous blue glass knob to it. Perfect for hanging some 'bling' on or your handbag.

Well now i am off to 'create' some more pretty valentines magic for my partner in Dollys Vintage Heart Swap....im like a kid in a lolly shop with this swap....WAHOOOO to Dolly for such an AWESOMELY SWEET IDEA. Bunches of hugs to ya sweetpea!

Thats all folks

Kisses n hugs
Shann :)

I totally agree, rearranging is perfect for the sole, I do it everyday, Im a professional!'As for the shutter and the drawer, they look great, and we are on the same wave length! I too, have done both of these, except mine are more country style...My shutter is used for mail, postcards and mags, and the drawers are used for storing stationery! Good finds!
Now ,about that stool.....

Hi Shannon,

Love how you rearranged everything and those shutters are so cool. Good idea to put magazines in it. And I really like the blue glass knob. There's something about blue glass that's so pretty.

I know that feeling of not wanting to do much, you wouldn't say you felt depressed just sort of flat and uninspired, I think it's that after Christmas thingy, seems quite contagious! Anyway I love the way you've arranged your dresser, why are you not happy with it? Your shutter is lovely, we must have been painting them at the same time, just I got photos on my blog the day before you did, love the drawer front too, clever girl

I was going to say the exact same thing Dolly said! You have some beautiful dishes that would go really well with the ones I have.

I soo know where you are coming from, i dont like my dresser either at the moment - saw some divine white scrolly plates and thought i would love to have only white but sigh they were very expensive so will have to get the urge to re-arrange too. Yours looks lovely anyway, love the old shutters - i have several old chippy green ones which i treasure!
Happy days - Mel xxx

Hi. This is my first visit to your blog. I love all your creativity! And I agree that rearranging is good for the soul. Yesterday I rearranged all the "treasures" on the top of my buffet. I think why we like it is that we actually have total control over something which rarely if ever happpens in life.

Hi Shan,

You wouldn't believe what I have sitting in my garage waiting to be painted........4 shutters!!! LOL.

I got hold of them at a fete last November and am yet to do anything with them. They certainly won't be sporting beautiful roses like yours, they look Fabulous! Love the magazine idea too!

Really like your drawer front as well. That is a great idea.

Bye for now,
Alex
