The Strength of People

Here in Australia right now we are experiencing some of the worst weather the nation has seen for a long, long time.
In Queensland, flood waters are destroying homes, business' and livestock. Too much rain, too soon and for too long. Then not too far over in Victoria the exact opposite. Fires like you cannot imagine, or maybe in your worst nightmares you can.
And just like the flooding, the loss of homes, business' and livestock is heartbreaking....however the most devastating is the loss of lives....the tally stands at 26 now as i type this.
I simply cannot put to words how i feel when i watch the news and see images of this devastation. I cannot even imagine the emotions of everyone affected.
And i feel useless. Completely useless. All i can offer right now is a prayer and i know in my heart that it will be heard.

Please if you can, just send a little request to the man upstairs to watch over these amazing Australians as they fight for everything.

May they remain strong and brave and come through this nightmare together, safely.

With Love.....
Shannon, Shane and Sam xx

My prayers are going out to you and your country. I just read about the raging fires online. I hope the much needed rain comes very soon.

Hey Shann couldn't have said it better myself, feel so sorry for these people who can only watch while they lose everything, even harder for the families who have lost relatives. It shows how lucky we are in NSW.

It is just unfahomable.
There were 94 fire crews just fighting one fire in Kinglake region...It is now being described as Holocust as there is nothing there now.
65 dead and days of fire still burning.
My sister is the foot of the ranges but her Son is in the Yarra valley and they were evacuated.
Marysville the beautiful quaint toen is no longer...Just burnt 90 % of homes burnt to the ground.
Many residents could'nt get out if they wanted to or not as there was only a road in and many died in their cars trying to leave.
The temps yesterday were 47.5 (117.5) in some areas...
My friends Hubby has just come in as a firey from an allnighter to get some sleep,Thank God for the Fireys and all who are battling.
Such extremes from State to State.
My Paryers are with everyone

Shannon it really is just too awful to think about, I have felt ill all day, my prayers and thoughts are with all those affected by the tragedies of Nature all over Australia. The horror and anguish so many people must have experienced makes this a tragic weekend...I hope that it will all soon be over and people can start rebuilding their lives.
I feel so helpless but have started bagging up clothes and items ready to donate as soon as I know where to send them....it isn't much but it is something.
