WE'RE GOING TO THE ZOO, ZOO, ZOO, HOW ABOUT YOU...?

Well technically we already went but thats ok.
Yep on the Sunday just gone, Shane, Sam and i headed off for the day to Sydneys Tagonga Zoo. Shane and I havent been for about 10 years and Sam has never been, so we were all pretty excited.
The zoo is built right on our beautiful Sydney Harbour.

It's just gorgeous.
Oh but geez why didnt someone remind me of all the walking.....up hill, down hill, back up a hill...and where was the drinks man to cool me down along the way??? I swear i walked off every piece of chocolate ive consumed this year and my butt even feels a bit sexier too!! LOL ! Watch out J.Lo !! HAHAHAHA

Anyway i digress, as per usual.

Some lunatics that escaped from the monkey cage. I felt sorry for them so i brought them home with me.


The little one was pretty cute but so i thought id cuddle up to him....


Sam is fascinated with snakes...Uh, No Thanks ! Especially not a Taipan!


My absolute love for Meerkats saw me take about 50 photos of them! I could have sat there all day and watched them. They are so curious and funny. Sam, my dad and i are devoted fans of the TV series Meerkat Manor.Sam adores them as well.




Arent they the sweetest things!

Now not so sweet and tiny...this Silverback Gorilla was HUGE. They are so fascinating to watch.


Sam loved the seals so much. I think he has plans for one in our pool......hmm...



ok now for something funny. We hopped on over to see the Fennec Foxes who, it seems are in mating season (well thats what the sign said but i now think it was just a cover up for their filthy minds and actions..LOL))...so im standing there poised, camera ready for a great photo of these cute lil fluffy's...so yep i got a great photo alright. I snapped the shutter just as the male swooped in from behind the shrubbery and this happened......


Ohmygosh i felt like a Voyeur ! What a classic, everyone was laughing their butts off ! So yep i can confirm that it is indeed mating season...
because.....20 seconds later he was back for another go.....


I know i know. I gave up trying for a 'sweet' photo after that. I felt kinda dirty but it was pretty gosh darn funny.

Ok compose yourself will you. It's only Fox sex afterall.LOL.
I know it just sounds funny right!

DID I FIND A BARGAIN?? OUI MADAME, I DID !

OUI, OUI, I DID, I DID,I DID FIND A BARGAIN!
On Saturday morning i hit the local St Vinnies with my lovely mummsy, for their MEGA Sale (they have it twice a year and its HUUUUGEEEEEEEE).
Sooo much stuff....tables of stuff...ahhh it's surely a junkin gals heaven. Mum was finding treasures left right and centre it tell ya! Every time i turned around she had another piece of somen' sweet in her arms! LOL. I found a few goodies myself after a while...well actually i spotted lots of things i could have bought but i was being good and waiting.....waiting...waiting...for that certain something...i'd know it when i saw it, surely it would call out to me........AND THEN IT DID !
Tucked away amongst the odds and ends..i first saw a glimpse of the back of it and i was immediately curious...i swear i knocked more than a few people over as i raced to get to it....I was like a crazy woman. A crazy woman on a mission!
Finally i made it around to the front....
I grabbed my mobile phone and snapped a quick blurry piccie of the item that had stolen my heart...

WELL HELLO THERE..WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE..??


It was love at first sight....and for only $40.00 it was ETERNAL LOVE at that!

after literally climbing over a pile of 'stuff' and almost impaling myself to get to it (oh but it was so worth it), i sent mum off with my cash to pay for my new best friend while i 'protected' her and hissed at anyone who dared to come to close..LOL.
Now i have this gorgeous piece at home with me...

HELLO PRETTY FRENCH TABLE......I THINK I LOVE YOU.



Even Shane was impressed...i didn't even get the usual "Oh great, where do you think you're gonna fit that?"
Ahhhh see, our lovely French Friend was meant to be with us!

I cant stop looking at her....oh and she goes BEAUTIFULLY with my new lounges (remember the gorgeous blue ones i posted about a while back???...Well they are here now!. Piccies next time!)

Ummm anyone else see a French Provincial theme creeping in here..???

Roses and Renovations ! Well kinda sorta...

The day started off with Roses *smiles*
Sam and i tootled outside before the YUKKY heat hit us, to check on the garden and cut some roses.
Sam arranged them in the jug and chose where they should go. My son the gardener. I suppose alot of people would think it's odd that a boy of 5 loves to garden as much as his mum...??? Oh well, rather he do that than be sitting inside watching the TV hey! Anyhoo i digress....here are our pretty roses for you all.

So next on the agenda was to put together my newly purchased bookcase for my lil corner of the office that Shane and i share. His corner...very blokey and neat...mine...uh well...i wont even go there...Let's just say that i forgot we even had carpet on that side of the room till today....hee hee.

So off i go, determined that i am putting this thing together by myself! And since i very bluntly told Shane this morning that "No i do not need to wait for you to get home to do it for me you twit. I can do it myself thankyou very much!" I thought id better hop to it.
Sam was my Site Manager and Job Photographer (unbeknown to me)...hence the blurry photo! LOL.


And guess what?? I DID do it all myself...knew i could of course...i even looked at the instructions (unlike a man). When i finished Sam proudly announced "See Mummy you dont need Daddy to help you with anything do you"
Damn straight there kiddo! LOL.

So then off to uhhhhh clean up the office...GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN why did i even start. Things get veeeerrrrrry messy before they get tidy dont they? Or is that just me? It's not is it...?? Is it..???
Anyhoo i did get it all done and mostly back in some sort of order, complete with new bookcase for my 'stuff' (or 'crap' as Shane would say)

Now i think i deserve a cold drink and to get horizontal for a while because i hurt my back and my hip moving the darn bookcase around (but thats just between us girls ok...). Yes i am stubborn and will not ask for help. Little Miss Stubborn, thats me.

So im off now to join my Georgie who's found the perfect spot in front of the fan in my bedroom....

What a life hey!

My all too gorgeous Bestest Buddy Rexine opened up a new shop a few weeks ago, just up the hill from me. I popped up for a visit and dropped off an order of Faux Cuppies too.

Now why didnt i take the photos once my cuppies were in the shop...hmm maybe i was too busy saying "Oooh I'll Have that and that and that!"

Isnt it a gorgeous shop! Im soooo tickled pink for my friend to have her own little Shop Full Of Heaven *big gushy smile* Only problem is i keep buying stuff! hee hee. Well i look at it as helping her achieve good sales...yes thats what i keep telling myself...!

Ok chickies now you all have a SUPER SWEET WEEKEND AHEAD...i have a busy one planned, including going Junkin' on MY OWN on Sunday (ahhh bliss be thine), so hopefully i'll have some bargains and treasures to show you!

It has been brought to my attention that some of us who are using our blogs and auctions to raise $ for Breast Cancer Research are being targeted by people who it seems have no sense of morals and no common sense either. I was targeted myself via an Ebay Breast Cancer listing, because i stated that anyone who reported my listing for mentioning my blog ought to be ashamed of themselves as it was to direct people to others who are selling breast cancer items.
ANYWAY.....
This is what this person sent me. I will withhold her name because i am better than that, she knows who she is anyway.

Q: You are the one who should be ashamed of yourself selling items to profit amongst a very sacred day for woman. SHAME ON YOU 21-Oct-08

MY REPLY:
A: Hello *** I will look past this rudeness and see it as just ignorance. So raising money for Breast Cancer Research is a bad thing then?? Directing people to other sellers who are doing the SAME thing is a bad thing then too? DONATING the profits from our sales is also bad then i assume? I have nothing to be ashamed of thankyou very much. I have lost a dear friend from this disease AND almost my husband as well so PLEASE DO NOT accuse me of things you know nothing about.

All i can say is it is a heartless and low act to target anyone who is raising money for such a worthwhile cause, with such venom!
I hope my friends, that you are not a victim of this.

The messages of support, blog comments, and emails from people who have been touched by this dreadful disease called Cancer were AMAZING ! WE truly are a loving sisterhood and you all showed that with your kind words and support SO THANKYOU from my heart to my tippy toes! ********* NOW FOR THE CREEPY CRAWLY STUFF *********

yep that's right...creepy and crawly...things with hairy legs...things that make your skin crawl....things that can turn a normally tough chick like me (haha) into a squealing hysterical mess! Hey I'm only human and geez louise can i squeal!

Now the cause of the hysteria???

ONE OF THESE NASTY LITTLE BLIGHTERS..well not so little actually...
This is a Huntsman Spider....you feeling sick right now?? Well read on, it gets worse!


The story goes a little something like this...now i say 'a little something' coz obviously i cannot write the exact words that were used...*wink* I am a lady after all....(except where spiders are concerned).

So late yesterday afternoon im out the front with Sam...we decide to feed the garden...i go grab the box of Aquasol...lalalala...having fun, walk over to the tap and suddenly i feel a 'bite' like a pinch almost, on my finger....Insert extreme expletives here now....picture me throwing the box of aquasol on the ground whilst leaping about, cussing and with Sam saying "WHAT MUMMY??WHAT MUMMY???"...i kick the box over to see the culprit there on the other side of it ! A HUNTSMAN...YES jus like that nasty hairy one up there in the photo!IT WAS HUGE! The sod of a thing bit me! So naturally i take my shoe off and smack the you-know-what out of it ! That'll teach him.
OK now don't panic THEY ARE NOT POISONOUS...but geez you kinda forget that for a moment! After swearing loud enough for the whole street to hear me i run inside and wash my hand under the kitchen tap...um yeah not before i LICKED MY FINGER!! GAWD WHAT AN IDIOT!!! If it had been poisonous id have just licked the poison right...yep! Well shock will make you do all kinds of dumba** things!
ANYWAY...after calming down i go back outside with Sam who goes straight over to the spider and hits it with his shovel (just to be sure it really is dead)...MY HERO !

Then Shane arrives home and i relay the story to him, which he finds pretty darn amusing, he shakes his head at me, tells me I'm an idiot and they aren't even poisonous. THANKS HONEY for your concern there, I'm overwhelmed...groan.
Father then arrives home and tells me my finger could fall off. GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN.I really needed to hear that.
SO i email my friends and tell them if they never hear from me again THIS IS WHY and if i keel over then please wait a few hours before coming to my house and taking all my pretties...you know, out of respect...LOL.

But I'm here typing so that means i made it through the ordeal with all fingers in tact and my ARACHNOPHOBIA even worse than it ever was!


Usually i find a story like this has a message in it for all of us ....My mum would say the message is WEAR GLOVES (as she did politely point out to me)...But i say the message is.. 'Huntsman spiders with their fluro green guts should learn they are no match for thong (as in shoes) wielding hysterical blonde's'
And so be it.


Hope my escapade gave you a giggle. It may as well have, my whole family and neighbourhood found it entertaining!

I feel very strongly about helping to find a cure for this horrid disease and I'm sure you all feel the same.
